A "shape" that took three years to achieve.
SWAAN4RLBERG's sheepskin shoes took approximately three years to create before their release.
"I want to create lace-up shoes made of natural sheepskin."
This endeavor began with the designer's desire.
However, reaching the ideal "shape" was not easy.
It began with confronting a soft material.
While there are easy-to-handle artificial materials for sheepskin,
if the fluffy texture is too strong, it can look like a "stuffed animal,"
deviating from the "adult lace-up" aesthetic we aimed for.
Therefore, we chose natural sheepskin, which combines elegance and warmth.
However, this material had a challenge: when made into shoes as is, it resulted in excessive bulk.
Our goal was to create a "fluffy yet sleek shape."
That was the first major hurdle we faced.
To preserve "SWAAN4RLBERG's essence."
We wanted to create "SWAAN4RLBERG's lace-up shoes," not just sheepskin boots.
That was the intention behind this pair.
A style that seamlessly blends with adult attire, yet appears slightly special.
For this, beautiful silhouette was essential.
Its softness required ingenuity.
The charm of natural sheepskin lies in its softness.
However, this also presents a weakness: it's difficult for the shoe to maintain its structure.
Therefore,
we created a structure where pigskin is used for the inner lining, and a reinforcing part is layered between it and the outer sheepskin.
This allowed us to maintain the softness of the sheepskin while
designing the shoe to beautifully hold its shape.
Delicate ingenuity for a beautiful silhouette.
The designer's greatest focus was on
creating a "beautiful silhouette" while utilizing the softness of the sheepskin.
The key to this was the process of "just right" fitting the natural sheepskin to the last (shoe mold).
Pressing the material too much or letting it float too much was not an option.
We repeatedly made prototypes in pursuit of this exquisite balance.
Small discoveries made on the path to this silhouette.
Through repeated prototyping, we discovered that
minute elements, such as "how much thickness to give" and "the position and size of reinforcing materials,"
which might seem unnoticeable at first glance, significantly impact the silhouette.
By accumulating these small discoveries one by one, we were able to preserve the "fluffy" texture unique to sheepskin while achieving a smart look, characteristic of SWAAN4RLBERG, that appears sleek and well-defined when worn.
The intention behind the "puffy" toe line.
The last thing we adjusted was the toe line.
Too much volume would make it look like a slipper, while too little would erase the sheepskin's charm.
It needed to look sleek yet have a gentle appearance.
To create that exquisite line, we were particularly meticulous about the "puffiness" of the toe.
Over time, it became a winter staple.

This pair, perfected without compromising either, is a special presence exclusively for winter.
The warmth the moment you put them on, the "just-right appearance" reflected in the mirror.
